- 1. Enter annual gross salary and headcount.
- 2. Add your employer contribution rate and EOR fee.
- 3. See each cost alongside the team total.
Budget estimate, not a quote
No automatic tax, benefit, foreign-exchange or deposit calculation. Include known recurring extras yourself; confirm local requirements and upfront funding with the provider.
Compare published EOR feesThe formula, with every input visible
Annual team cost = employees × [annual gross salary × (1 + employer contribution rate / 100) + 12 × (monthly EOR fee + monthly other costs)].
The calculation uses your assumptions for one group of equally costed employees. Run it separately for different countries or salary bands. It does not infer local tax rates or confirm that a provider covers your hiring country.
Why separate the costs? Remote's invoice documentation lists employer contributions, benefits and management fees separately. Its cost-estimate explanation also includes extra statutory salary payments. Enter all applicable amounts and avoid counting the same expense twice.
Optional fee presets come from our cited provider dataset, last checked 2026-10-25. They are published starting fees, not country-specific quotes. Read the EOR pricing guide for the wider cost breakdown, or compare two providers.
Employment cost questions
How do you calculate total EOR employment cost?
For one employee, add annual gross salary, your estimated employer contributions, 12 monthly EOR fees and 12 months of other recurring costs. Multiply by headcount for the annual team budget, then divide by 12 for the average monthly cost.
Does an EOR fee include the employee's salary?
The service fee is separate from salary and employment costs. This calculator shows salary, employer contributions, the provider fee and your additional costs as separate lines so you can compare the full recurring budget.
Which employer contribution rate should I use?
Use an estimate for the specific country, salary and employment arrangement from your provider or local payroll adviser. This calculator does not choose a rate or apply local contribution caps. The percentage is your assumption, applied to all gross salary entered.
Can I use a quote-only provider?
Yes. Choose that provider and enter the monthly per-employee fee from your quote. A missing published fee is never treated as zero. You can also override any catalog starting fee with your negotiated amount.
What is excluded from the estimate?
Costs you have not entered are excluded. Examples include additional salary payments, benefits, currency conversion, taxes on invoices, onboarding, termination and upfront deposits. Include recurring expenses in your inputs and budget for one-time payments and deposits separately. This is a planning estimate, not tax advice or a binding quote.
